AIRPORT
When filming in Aberdeen City and Shire you are never more than an hour away from an airport. Aberdeen International (ABZ), located 6 miles northwest of the city centre and served by excellent road and rail links, handles over 3 million passengers annually, as well as being one of the world’s busiest heliports. There are around six scheduled flights to London per day, with a flight time of just over 90 minutes, as well as shorter direct flights to Manchester. RAIL SERVICES
Trains depart from Aberdeen for Glasgow and Edinburgh around every half hour during the day, while London King’s Cross is just over 7 hours away along the East Coast main line. Or, you can travel to Aberdeen in style overnight on the sleeper train. Aberdeen is also the starting point for the longest scheduled rail journey in the UK – to Penzance, Cornwall – and there are frequent services to Inverness. Additional local stations are situated in Stonehaven, Laurencekirk, Portlethen, Dyce, Inverurie, Insch, and Huntly.
